Collage Cards… These are some 5″X7″ collages I’ve worked on over the last few weeks. I like collage because it’s so playful. Just gather some images and paper, glue and paint, add fabric and stamps, maybe some writing. I feel like I am doing something creative. But I am really looking forward to getting back to some BIG canvases soon! Hopefully I can continue with these. I wish I could commit to a collage a day, but that scares me a little as I take my commitments seriously. I’ve been turning these into notecards as I am one of those few people in the world who still writes snail mail!

Have you ever committed to doing something everyday for a period of time? How did it go? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Art Supplies!

My sister sent me a great quote today. It made me feel less guilty about all my wonderful art supplies! I just received this little pocket paint box all the way from Cheshire, England for a mere $15 total through Amazon. It’s only 4″ x 2″ x 3/4″!!! and is easy to carry with me at all times. I love it when I find a great bargain. Here’s the quote: “If someone tells you that you have enough art supplies and you don’t need anymore, stop talking to them. You don’t need that kind of negativity in your life.” I think it came via Leonie Dawson.

I am just looking at my art supplies right now as I have a major design job at the moment and of course it’s rush! I am grateful to have the work because my paintings aren’t flying out the door! Soon I’ll have my hands back in the paints again… and something new to show. How are you spending your days this November? It’s gratitude month for me.

From my journal – Welcoming November with Gratitude

I like to celebrate the start of each new month with 2 pages in my journal. I usually include a little calendar and an intention or list of my wishes for the month. November, with Thanksgiving just around the corner, reminds me to be thankful for all my blessings, to live life with grace, to feel my creative energy and find magic in the moments… those little things that make up one big life! Hugs, friends, family near and far, sunshine, cool breezes, leaves flying, a smile, colorful paints, warm apple crisp, cranberries, green tea, dark chocolate, cozy socks and the purr of my cat. I have so much more than I could have ever imagined for myself when I was younger! What are you grateful for and what moments are magical for you?

I wish you a month bursting with wonderfulness!
