How is this month almost over? I feel like I’ve been busy with L I F E ! But I have started some new acrylics. I just don’t know where they are going or when they will be finished. So, I’ve made some ATC art in sleeves to send to a special friend who needs some cheering up. One of my Love Notes Postcard friends sent me one of these and I just thought it was too much F U N! Thanks to Cheri in Reno! I have another in the works. It keeps my brain in the art studio when I don’t know what to do with the bigger things. Would this cheer you up? (It shows the front and back!) Cheers to all. Happy almost February!
I am teaching another One Word & Magic Mandalas Workshop tomorrow at 10am at the Creative Artist Gallery, 933 E Brandon Blvd, Brandon FL, 863-514-0223. Come and join the fun!
I have a new email and now you can find all my online connections in one place… links are on the bottom of my home page at LyndaFishbourne.com
I’ll be leading a workshop this weekend at Shore Bliss Yoga in Apollo Beach, FL. We’ll be doing walking meditations, writing, finding our own personal word and drawing magic mandalas to help us manifest our intentions for the year. It’ll be much more fun than make a goals list or a bunch of resolutions that will be hard to keep.
I can’t believe it’s been soooooo long since I wrote here. All I can say is “the holidays!” So far it’s been wonderful and there’s more fun to have, but some things like blogging and painting and creating have fallen by the wayside for visiting, cooking, decorating, celebrating and so much more. We did take a little time out and went for a walk around the neighborhood Christmas morning. It was quiet and I found these little treasures. We heard a Barned Owl and I found the little owl feather too. I’ve been taking small vignette photos around the house and you can see them on my Instagram. Just search for ladyfishpirate. Have a wonderful New Year everyone. Cheers!
Now I just need to go into production, making copies, hole punching, and binding (still thinking about that). We got a quote at a quick printer but the cost was high per piece, so I am going to do a limited edition off my own printer and bind them myself. Each month has a different watercolor flower with a short love note from me to you. Major holidays are noted and so are the full moon, new moon and solstice. The size is 8.5″ x 10.5″ on 110# recycled white card stock. I have been wanting to do something like this for years and years. It feels good to have finally accomplished it! YAY!
I like to celebrate the start of each new month with 2 pages in my journal. I usually include a little calendar and an intention or list of my wishes for the month. November, with Thanksgiving just around the corner, reminds me to be thankful for all my blessings, to live life with grace, to feel my creative energy and find magic in the moments… those little things that make up one big life! Hugs, friends, family near and far, sunshine, cool breezes, leaves flying, a smile, colorful paints, warm apple crisp, cranberries, green tea, dark chocolate, yoga, cozy socks and the purr of my cat. I have so much more than I could have ever imagined for myself when I was younger! What are you grateful for and what moments are magical for you?
I wish you a month bursting with wonderfulness!
Since I’ve gotten into my Save the Bees project, I have become very interested in flowers as I learn which are favored by our endangered bee friends. I planted a bee-friendly garden and my neighbor has a walkway through a Secret Garden, so there’s lots of inspiration nearby. I have started a new series of watercolors like those above. They should make colorful notecards and a 2017 calendar! I’ve always wanted to make a calendar with my art. Now I am researching how to reproduce them… I may just do it myself and post to my Easy shop which has been dormant for far too long.
I am feeling a new series of acrylic paintings coming on. It’s time to break out, let loose, fly like the Fall leaves and have some fun. I feel like I’ve been too serious. The slightly cooler weather here in Florida is giving me extra energy and inspiring me> How is your Fall going?
