It’s warm and wonderful here in sunny Florida. Great weather for getting outside and doing some watercolors of found leaves and things.
I like to celebrate the start of each new month with 2 pages in my journal. I usually include a little calendar and an intention or list of my wishes for the month. November, with Thanksgiving just around the corner, reminds me to be thankful for all my blessings, to live life with grace, to feel my creative energy and find magic in the moments… those little things that make up one big life! Hugs, friends, family near and far, sunshine, cool breezes, leaves flying, a smile, colorful paints, warm apple crisp, cranberries, green tea, dark chocolate, yoga, cozy socks and the purr of my cat. I have so much more than I could have ever imagined for myself when I was younger! What are you grateful for and what moments are magical for you?
T hese are a couple of spreads from my Creative+Practice studio sketchbook where I am working with the prompts from Lisa Sonora’s FIRE, 30 days of journal prompt. The Dive In one really got me going on some bigger paintings and I feel less stuck! What are you diving into these days?
To keep myself challenged and inspired, I often join an online group. There are so many! But Susannah Conway always does some heartfelt, soulful workshops that speak to me. Right now I am following along with her April Love challenge to write a love letter every day. She gives a daily subject and a sample. Of course, I couldn’t just do a written letter.. I had to include art, postage stamps and start a new journal! Here’s the cover and some of the spreads… What do you do to keep yourself challenged and inspired? I’d LOVE to know.
Whew! Hard to believe Thanksgiving weekend is really winding down. It’s been special. I’ve also been working on two workshops: Mandala Magic with Julie Gibbons and Creative+Practice with Lisa Sonora.
AND here’s the cover and 2 inside pages of my new “Map Book” sketchbook for Creative+Practice. It used to be plain black!
Happy November! I’ve been working on some small collages, some journal pages and playing round with watercolors… my goal for November is to really kick my “Creative Practice” into gear with regular daily attention. Reading BIG MAGIC by Elizabeth Gilbert is a great motivator to pay attention. I am off to yoga at Raven’s Nest. What are you starting you week with?
I can’t believe it’s September 5 already, can you??? I’ve been journaling and painting and making Dream Catchers. These are journal pages from the Spectrum online workshops I’ve been doing over the course of the last few months. This was a great exercise using photography for information gathering and for inspiration.
